Considered “One of 2019’s Artists to Watch,” acclaimed harpist/multi-instrumentalist CALVIN ARSENIA is currently enjoying rave reviews for his national debut,
CANTALOUPE (Center Cut Records) as well as for Arsenia’s hypnotic reimagined cover of Britney Spear’s signature track “Toxic.” NPR recently called it “beautiful music”
and Arsenia was hailed by KC Pitch as “Best Musician of 2018.”
Arsenia continues his knack for genre-bending song-making on the beautifully rendered LA Sessions, to be released this September, upping the creative ante with a group of
revered session musicians who complement his foundational artistry seamlessly, merging mutual influences with new musical plateaus. The all-star collaborators joining
Arsenia include Tony Braunagel on percussion (he also produced LA Sessions), Paul Brown on guitar, Mike Finnigan on keyboards, and Freddie Washington on bass.
Among the songs included on the upcoming LA Sessions are new renditions of Arsenia’s originals including the moving single “Back To You,” as well as a smoldering
cover of Billie Holiday’s classic “Don’t Explain,” featuring a heart-wrenching vocal by the passionate Arsenia.
Born in Orlando, Florida, and reared in the Kansas City suburb of Olathe, Arsenia taught himself the guitar, and eventually the harp. A humanistic songwriter/performer
whose impassioned and conceptual stage shows are collaborative, costumed, culture- bridging spectacles which IN Kansas City Magazine has hailed as ‘equal parts opera,
symphony, musical theatre, rock show, all built around its creator: a charismatic 6-foot- 7-inch harpist with a natural stage command and knack for gilding gold and painting
