Formed in the depths of a music school in Los Angeles, the band Bendita is a blend of cultures and styles that make up their own distinct soulful sound. Pulling from 6 different countries, this genre-defying modern soul band owns their colorful rhythms and fruitful melodies. The rhythm section is composed of drummer Ryo Nakamura (Japan), and bassist Abigail Miller (Chicago) who push and pull each other within their natural pocket. The rest of the band is built from Violeta Recondo’s (Argentina) articulate vocals, Niklas Karlin’s (Sweden) decisive guitar licks, Benjamin Keys’ (Switzerland) cohesive keys playing, and Alejandro Montoya’s (Colombia) nuanced harmonies. Their influences encompass Hiatus Kaiyote, Erykah Badu, Radiohead, D’Angelo, Lauryn Hill, Aretha Franklin, Little Dragon, and many more.  Together they gather a special attraction on stage that maintains a high energy and a makes for a fun show. Their music is composed and structured, yet natural, collaborative, and intuitive. Each person brings their own flavor that produces a melting pot of the sound that is Bendita
The HiGrounds
The HiGrounds
Formed in May 2016 in Hermosa Beach, The HiGrounds are a young local act determined to share their love for rock and roll. The group was conceived by Berklee College of Music Alumni Matt Sumen (guitar) and Nick Schuman (Piano), then brought into fruition by neighborhood friend and musician Madden Laing (Drums). Honing their skills on stages such as The Whiskey A Go Go, The Viper Room, and Saint Rocke, The HiGrounds released their well received first album titled ‘Wouldn’t Hurt To Show’ In November of 2017. Inspired by classic rock groups such as The Doors, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Supertramp, this young group of musicians are excited to showcase their talents through their creative songwriting and energetic shows.
