  • 8:30 - Vacances

Vacances was forged by singer Danny Lannon in 2015 out of the ashes of his previous West Coast electro-indie project, The Frail. Finding a production and songwriting partner in Alex Fitts of The Kickdrums, whose production prowess also gave defining shape to mid 2000's hip-hop / indie rock tracks from the likes of 50 Cent, John Legend, and Kid Cudi, Danny knew the duo were onto something and left San Francisco for New York last year to focus on the project exclusively. The two wrote several tracks from their forthcoming EP in Alex’s Greenpoint studio before decamping to Europe to write the rest while traveling through Portugal, Spain, and Morocco.
Alex & Danny have successful track records on stage as well in the studio, having performed at festivals such as Treasure Island, Bottle Rock, SXSW, and CMJ, and have shared the stage with Mike Snow, The Walkmen, Passion Pit, Phantogram, Miguel, and Hot Chip.

Lannon released his first Vacances single “Runaway” to stellar reviews from EarMilk, Examiner, and AV Club and followed up with his viral hit ‘Never Give Up’ which has racked up over 140,000 spins thanks to strong support from Spotify and their “Indie Pop!” playlist. AV Club called Vacances "The Zenith of 80s New Wave" and the group has been compared to the likes of Passion Pit, New Order, Circa Waves, and Phoenix. Their new EP, Strangers, comes out June 22nd.
