Hailing from the same place on the map that brought the world Michael Jackson, Ideal is a genre bending/blending troubadour of an emcee. Falling in love with every aspect of hip-hop before he was a teenager, he was soon involved in a variety of eclectic independent groups and bands in the Chicago area, most notably the band Midwest Hype. Spending his early formative years of his late teens & early 20's with one foot in the streets & the other in the studio, he put his grind down in both in order to fund his dreams & musical aspirations. It was during this time that he came into contact with trumpet player Willie Waldman. After immediately bonding and playing together for some time the two artists brought together an amazing lineup of truly legendary musicians to produce the lush sonic landscape of Ideal's first solo EP - "Wildlife" . Featuring artists such as Umphreys McGee's Jake Cinninger & Kris Meyers, as well the likes of Ratdog's Jay Lane & Fishbone's Norwood Fisher, engineered & produced by Grammy-award winning engineer Lance Pierre at the legendary Skip Saylor studios in LA, "Wildlife" is a virtual melting pot of genres, styles, & textures that have all influenced Ideal throughput his journey, boiled down to create a the full-spectrum of his own vision of what hip-hop can be. Welcome to the future, his name is Ideal. If you don't know him yet, you will soon.
