I am a musician, singer, performer and the stage is what I call my home. Music brings people together and has truly made me who I am today. I grew up in the small town called Sonora and moved to Los Angeles in 2012 to pursue my dream of being on the big stage. I play with a twelve piece band and we bring the house down! My original music comes from my heart and life experiences. My style of music I call myself is FUNK POP. I have grown up with Cher, Prince, Queen, AC/DC, Kansas, and more. During college I joined a Jazz group and learned a lot about Nat King Cole, Billie Holliday, Sarah Vaughan, and etc. Once I moved to LA I joined a funk band and performed Aretha Franklin, Earth Wind and Fire, The Spinners, Michael Jackson and so much more. My music is definitely upbeat, soulful, rhythmic and these artist’s have helped me sculpt my style.
During my time living in southern California I have had many experiences learning about the music industry and what it takes to make it. At 20 years old I started recording my first project at Love and Laughter Recording Studios in Anaheim Ca. I had no idea what to expect since I have never recorded before. It was a lot of work, it made me work harder and it pushed me to become a better writer and vocalist. I don't think a lot of people understand what it takes to be a recording artist. It takes long hours and hard work. My very first songs that I recorded were: Motown Kind of Love, One Last shot and Smile. Then two years after that project I decided to record three more: Delicious, Beggin and Maybe. I love all of my songs and they all have helped shape me as an artist. Trying to figure out how I wanted my sound to be was very difficult and can stress out a lot of artists. I have learned that your sound develops as you grow and keep writing.
So far I can say that I have had a lot of great highlighting experiences that have pushed me to expand and develop as an artist. One example of this was back in January of 2018 I had the opportunity to talk to Steve Harvey. I was able to ask him questions about taking leaps of faith in order to achieve your dreams. Steve Harvey is a huge role model to me. He went on to tell me to take the leap of faith and fully pursue my music career and that was the moment of realization that pushed me to fully commit to music.
Currently I am performing all over Southern California and working on new music to release by the end of 2019. This musical endeavor of mine is only just beginning. I truly believe that hard work pays off and I can't wait until the world hears what I have created and what is still to come.
