After 72 years, the Mint remains one of LA’s most historic landmarks in the city’s musical landscape. It’s where Ben Harper got his start (and recently returned as Relentless 7), and Taj Mahal recorded his Grammy-award winning album. In recent years The Mint has reinvented itself to a whole new generation of roots music aficionados as well as becoming the unofficial hub of New Orleans music on the left coast. The room’s intimate vibe has only been enhanced by its renovations topped off with an art installation by LA artist, Norton Wisdom (http://www.nortonwisdom.com).
