The Awesomeness
Val Derringer was found washed up on the shores of Zuma Beach California with no possessions and a Ralph’s club card.
After immersing himself into the LA grab bag music scene, he had a chance encounter with Miss Golden Delicious when they both requested Der Kommisar at an open mic Karaoke competition at the Moonlight Rollerway skating rink in Chula Vista. They both lost out to former American Idol runner up Justin Guarini. Val insists the contest was fixed.
Soon after, Val and Golden met The Steves at a open casting call for a Fruit of the Loom commercial. Though none of them got a call back, they immdediately established a rapport.
After discussing the copious similarities in influences (Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Wang Chung, David Hasselhoff, Scritti Politti, Alan Thicke, Yellow, Ready for the World, etc.) the foursome decided that their meeting was no coincidence. Even before they had finished writing their first song together, the chemistry was palpable. They knew they were destined to be luminaries…..and so they became……
THE AWESOMENESS.
