The five-piece Huntington Beach, California-based band is amped on love in all its phases – whether bleeding from a broken heart, or tapping into it as a renewable resource – in a way that is neither suffocating nor invasive. Their sound is the equivalent of whatever the hell Cupid’s got on the tip of his arrow, almost intoxicating with oft-expressions of the most basic however complex human desires. What makes them stand out is that – while their sound in itself has been done before (haven’t they all?) – there is an honesty and obvious origin of talent on a homegrown foundation, serving as a clear distinction from most expendable flavors of the week. It also helps that their overall upbuilding message of love and hope is set to a range of tone, from a “summer of love” sentiment to very much classic rock undertones, to folksy, soulful, yet always rock & roll.
