Captains

Originating in Sydney, Australia, Captains exploded onto the scene with their debut EP “Keep Yourself Occupied.” The intoxicating 4 piece won many fans, critics and accolades around the country throughout 2008. The year quickly culminated in the band winning “song of the year” in Sydney’s prestigious Alternative Music Awards.

In a short career, Captains have shared the stage with some of Australia’s foremost acts: Children Collide (at the iconic Spaceland Los Angeles), Dappled Cities, Dead Letter Circus, Dukes of Windsor, Mammal, Cuthbert & the Nightwalkers, Final Days of Autumn (Clint Boge), and many other notables along the way…

Captains are a band that EMPHASIZE with capital letters, whilst underscoring with fine print.

2009 has seen Captains keep it moving – over to the other side of the world – touring Canada and the US from March through July, beginning with the Canadian Music Week opening party and finishing in sunny LA. After cutting their teeth on American stages for just over 2 months, and because Captains do not like to waste time, the band also wrote and recorded a follow up during this period – with the legendary LA based Rick Parker. Late 2009 has seen the band base themselves in the US, where they will begin their second US run in early 2010.

“Keep Yourself Occupied” is currently available worldwide. Stay tuned for Captains’ second installment…
